Individual needs to have a strong background in protection and control circuits in transmission substations. Familiarity with the programming and testing transmission type relays such as Schweitzer, GE, Areva and ABB relays would be an adder (not required). Experience required in the evaluation of testing data for power circuit breakers, transformers and other substation components. Substation component testing would be performed by others.
