Pay: $20-30/hr. 

 

Job Purpose: As a Warehouse Associate supporting operations, you'll play a critical role in organizing, preparing, and delivering essential field equipment to our technician teams. This position ensures electrical testing gear, fleet tools, and consumables are available, functioning, and properly documented for deployment. You’ll be responsible for tracking inventory, assembling job kits, maintaining a clean and safe workspace, and supporting substation field crews with materials and logistics. A strong sense of organization, attention to detail, and responsive teamwork will set you up for success.

Responsibilities

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Track and manage field test equipment using a spreadsheet-based inventory system; check items in and out accurately.
  • Purchase and restock essential supplies for field personnel (e.g., gloves, cleaning products, consumables).
  • Review work orders and prepare required tools and materials ahead of scheduled jobs.
  • Organize materials in designated storage areas—shelves, bins, or racks—based on workflow and priority.
  • Receive incoming equipment and supplies, inspect for accuracy, and coordinate shipments as needed.
  • Assemble and stage gear for deployment to job sites.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly shop environment, including tools and shared workspaces.
  • Support Substation Technicians in the field with materials, tools, or logistics assistance.
  • Coordinate equipment assignments and shipments for new hires.
  • Assist with GPS unit setup and company fleet vehicle tracking.
  • Consistently provide professional, responsive, and friendly support to the field team.

Equipment You’ll Use:

In the Warehouse & Job Sites:

  • Pallet jacks & forklifts
  • Hand tools (hammers, screw guns, box cutters)
  • Laptop for system input and testing software

 

Field Equipment Coordination & Inspection

Preferred to have a working understanding of electrical testing equipment and/or terminology (experience in a technical, electrical, or testing environment is a plus).

Receive, inspect, and ship a wide range of field testing equipment, including but not limited to:

  • High/medium/low voltage test instruments
  • Circuit breakers (LV/MV/HV)
  • Transformers, switchgear, motors
  • Potential transformers (PTs), capacitive voltage transformers (CCVTs)
  • Power factor testers, ductors, Meggers
  • CT ratio and saturation testers
  • Hi-Pot (high-potential) testers
  • Verify all components and accessories are present, in good condition, and functioning prior to check-out or shipment.
  • Coordinate and schedule calibration and functionality testing with internal teams or third-party vendors to ensure equipment accuracy and safety.
  • Keep thorough records using a spreadsheet-based inventory system to manage status, location, and service dates for all equipment.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Highly motivated self-starter with desire to learn
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Desire to pursue Education and Training in Electrical Technology and Power Distribution

 Additional Requirements: 

 

  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Able to work overtime and travel out of town for periods of time
  • Able to climb ladders, stand for extended periods, able to lift 70 lbs
  • To bend, kneel, knee stand and squat up to 30 minutes at a time
  • To sit and stand for prolonged periods over 2 hours at a time according to job demands
  • To work outside in harsh weather conditions
  • To travel up to 15% of the time
  • To respond to emergency calls as needed
  • To work overtime on an as-needed basis
  • To wear personal protective equipment (such as fire-retardant clothing, steel-toe shoes, ear and eye protection)
  • Must have a valid driver's license and currently have and be able to maintain a good driving record
  • Complete a satisfactory criminal background check
