Job Purpose:

The Estimator, Team Lead assists our sales team with bidding projects and assigns responsibilities for estimating team. This person will prepare work to be estimated by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and identify labor, material, and time requirements and compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements. In addition, this role is responsible for triaging incoming requests for quotes and assign to estimators based on capabilities and workload to ensure efficiency and accuracy.  The Team Lead also provides guidance on best practices and supports the training new of hires.  This position reports to the SVP, Sales Operations.

• Maintains an understanding of the workload assigned to each team member and their capabilities to estimate projects.
• Assigns quote requests based on performance criteria like workload, skill set, due date, region, etc. to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
• Prepares estimates by gathering requests for proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
• Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
• Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
• Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
• Maintains and improves technical knowledge through training.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Supports team by providing technical and administrative guidance.
• Assists with new hire training.
• Exhibits a professional presentation when dealing with employees, clients, and suppliers.

• 2 or more years’ experience in a technical estimating role in the electrical industry.
• Knowledge or aptitude of electrical equipment acceptance and maintenance testing services, including high, medium, and low voltage applications.
• Experience or aptitude with a wide variety of electrical apparatus used in the electrical industry, including protection & control equipment, transformers, breakers, and switchgear.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Advanced computer skills with the Microsoft Office Suite programs with emphasis on Excel and Word, Blue Beam, and Zeus.
• Must be proactive and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Physically able to walk large job sites in various kinds of weather.
• Limited potential travel for job site walks or project kick off meetings.
