This position is for an entry level Field Engineer who has earned their Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited college or university specializing in this field. This position involves contributing both as an individual and as part of a team. Persons in this role must be able to apply basic engineering principles, specifications, policies, and procedures in the field.

We are currently seeking an Entry Level Field Engineer (1yr or less of experience) in the Electrical Engineering / Substation / Power discipline.

• Takes pride in work place safety and working with other substation personnel.
• Assists with work in energized utility substations so as to maintain the reliability and integrity of in service equipment.
• Provides basic knowledge of AC and DC power.
• Makes decisions with assistance regarding engineering complexities and methods.
• Responsible for compliance documentation for equipment testing and maintenance.
• Assists in planning, scheduling and performing work as required according to standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Assists in building test plans and review of operational plans.
• Directly interfaces with customers.
• Assists with acceptance and routine testing of protective relays and associated equipment.
• Attends training classes per management discretion.
• Assists with installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work in high voltage substation facilities (including distribution, transmission, and generation facilities).
• Equipment includes instrument transformers, high voltage breakers and associated substation equipment, all types of protective relays and control systems, remote terminal units (supervisory control and data acquisition units), and communications equipment.
• Assists with coordination of all relay maintenance and testing activities so as to comply with installation and maintenance standards.
• Responsible for compliance documentation of equipment tested as per NERC, FERC, and local utility requirements.

• ABET-accredited Engineering or Engineering Technology degree; minimum of Bachelor’s
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 is preferred
• 0-1 years of engineering experience.
• Ability and desire to work in a field environment.
• Ability to obtain a top secret security clearance if needed
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Complete a satisfactory criminal background check.
• Able to work overtime and travel out of town for periods of time.
• Able to climb ladders, stand for extended periods, able to lift 70 lbs.
• Must have a valid driver's license and currently have and be able to maintain a good driving record.

• Good level of verbal and written communication in English
