Overview

Voltyx Corporation is interviewing for a Training Support Engineer/Specialist to assist with the development and implementation of a multi-faceted Technical Training Program. The ideal candidate must have at least two years’ experience in a field and/or engineering position working in the power utility, industrial, and/or commercial electrical industry.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Engineering: Assist with the development and engineering design of multiple protection & Control schemes, power utility, and low voltage electrical equipment operations in a controlled lab environment, which includes Relay Protection panels, electromechanical/microprocessor relays, power transformers, circuit breakers, battery banks, data centers, renewables, switchgear, and/or motor control centers.

 

  • Training Lab Facility: Supports the day-to-day operations, safety, scheduling, registration, equipment inventory/calibration, maintaining, and functionality of a multi-million-dollar Engineering and Testing Training Center.

 

  • Technical Knowledge: Understands, assists, and supports substation and low voltage equipment testing, troubleshooting, engineering, operations, wiring, terminations, soldering, relay settings, Factory Acceptance Testing, QA reviews, and implementation of the companywide Standard Operating Procedures.

 

  • Training Content Development: Supports and assists the Director of Corporate Training with the development of the technical training curriculum, certifications, presentations, coordination, training plans, LMS/digital learning platforms, training events, onboarding, specifications, manuals, SOPs, reporting, tracking, and/or training documentation.

 

  • Assistant Trainer: Supports, assists, and delivers in person presentations, hands-on training, on-line training, employee evaluations, testing, and/or equipment troubleshooting.

 

  • Teamwork: Must be able to effectively work and support all efforts in a Teamwork environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. 
  • Years of industry experience can be substituted for education
  • Strong Oral Communication and Technical Writing Skills
  • Superior organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • 2+ years’ experience in the power utility, industrial, commercial, and/or plant operations
  • Willingness to grow in the engineering and training field
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • 25% Travel may be required
