As a wireman, your primary function is the termination of cables in the relay control panels, as well as any outdoor equipment (breakers, VT’s, etc.). All necessary wiring supplies will be available, minus standard hand tools (screwdrivers, wire cutters, needle nose pliers, etc.). Supplied tools include crimpers, wire strippers and cable cutters. Instruction will be given on site as to proper wiring technique desired by the customer, as well as training on proper shield grounding of the control cable. An understanding of wiring diagrams is necessary, as this will be one of the primary means to determine cable location and termination sequence. Assistance in correcting factory wiring may be required, as well as re-wiring existing circuits during a cutover at brown field substations.
